The body went back on the chassis (loosley) yesterday, had a little time after work so I put my new wheels on.
Mefro 6x16 ET30
205/16 Hankook RT01 tyres (very similar to BF Goodridge AT's)
Appologies for rubbish phone picture.

I used conversion studs all around and used the correct wheel nuts with the correct seat (mercedes style) for the wheels.
Surprisingly you can still turn the steering wheel!
I just hope the Reduced offset doesn't make it drive strangley!

Hi Simon,
nice wheels!
I think the Mefros are very similar to the T3 Syncro 16" steel-rims,
which are officially approved by the VW company to be mounted on the Iltis.
The big difference is the spread.
Syncro = 5,5"
Mefro = 6,0"
On my Iltis are VW Bus T4 wheels 6 x 16 ET53
Because of the "deep" ET53 and the different hub-drilling I also had to mount aluminium spacers.
The advantage with spacers was, I could "adjust" the wheels till the tires fit to the fenders edge...
By the way, what colour does your Iltis have?
Looks like a light brown on my monitor.
-
Yes, The Mefro's are very similar to the T3 16" items.
Another company under the Mefro banner is "Kronprinz", They make wheels for OEM, if you look at a lot of VW wheels they have KPZ stamped into them, this is Kronprinz so we know the Mefro are excellent quality and well up to the use I will put them to!
:)
With these wheels and 205/16 the tyre treads are just inside the arch, they are perfect, as far out as you can safely go without having to use a wheel arch extension.
The colour is VW L319 I presume, RAL6014, it is quite old and has been painted several times, the picture was under fluro light at night with a camera phone, so I wouldn't take too much notice of your monitor!
:p

More pictures of the rims here, and a little update of the last week.

Yes, the wheels are precise at the right position !!!
Perfect job!
If your 205 R16 tires are down, you can upgrade to 225/75 R16.

Great info, thanks!
I take it 2009> caddy is 5x112 PCD?
Some nice 16" steels on e-bay locally to me, interesting winter wheels for something.
