On Friday we stripped all the parts we could from our iltis and sent it to the paint shop.
We put it on its standard wheels, it looked very strange!
Is there a name for a female iltis? Jill? That's what I should call ours, it looks very feminine now!
Anyway...
The body's hop have been told to not take all the bumps and scrapes out, I don't want a perfect iltis that I dare not use!
From the factory in 1981, would RAL6014 have been satin or Matt?

Well, it was RAL6014 old, RAL6014 new, or RAL6031 depending on year of manufacture. But don't ask me which year it was changed...
And it's "stumpfmatt" which ist more matt than matt! Not satin!

Female name for an Iltis (hunter´s language): FAEHE (Iltis, Dachs, Marder, Fuchs, Wiesel)

FAEHE it is!
I googled what a female pole cat is, in English it's a "Jill".
I wonder if the paint supplier understands stumpfmatt?!
In English it seems to mean "dull Matt"
I've had Matt vehicles before, they were a bit annoying as they showed every mark.
I think I will go with a satin finish, not Matt, not gloss but somewhere Inbetween as it seems a little more durable.
It may not be technically correct but neither are the Mefro wheels, I need something I can use.

Well, it's away!
I've taken it to the wrong person!
I just wanted it tidying up, but the man I took it to has OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, he is very particular!
He can't do half a job and is already fretting!
Funny.
Not had chance to see how far down he's stripped it, been very busy at work and I've not managed to get away to see how he is getting on.
I'm not sure I want to see it really, might just wait till its ready.
I hope he doesn't go mad, I just wanted it without visible rust!
He loves polishing things, he will be really confused when he paints it and it's finished!
